Overheard in the Wolfe House #17

(as Paige enters the room, after a long talk with Sam about whether it’s more drastic to un-friend or block someone on Facebook)
Peggy: Aren’t you going to miss all this big-brother advice next year?
Paige: I will. I will.
Sam: I don’t think so. The sound of her voice is too grown-up for me to think she’s going to miss Michael and me when she goes to college next year.

Aw. That assessment required making a lot of connections in a short time.

Which is it, un-friend or block?

Wow, I never thought about it that way. Mark had that kind of consciousness of things. When something amazing happens, I just get tingles and try to freeze the moment in my mind. Then spend the next four days trying to figure out why it was amazing.

    I’m a slow thinker.

Sam thinks that blocking is more severe because it gets you in trouble with the system, and that people don’t notice when a friendship slips away. Paige disagrees. She thinks you can quietly block and not take away friendship.

    It’s just like life!
