Walk, Trot, Canter
We spent last weekend in College Station. Sam rode Trevor in the state Special Olympics, Class A. Here’s the ride. Trevor was really working hard, Sam said, but they didn’t medal.
I’ll post the trail and showmanship videos next.
It seemed to me that Trevor got a little onery.
Sam is being kind to Trevor. I’m pretty sure at the start of that canter, that’s where the medal was lost.
No doubt. They were doing really well until that head shake. But what a great lesson from Sam. Kindness is more important than winning.
Sam is a wonderful rider, a kind and gracious competitor (how many of them did you see congratulating the competition on their rides? Sam sure did!), and an outstanding young man. Well done! When anyone can compete and behave like the champion that Sam is, standings are unimportant~in life Sam is already a winner. Was great to finally meet you this weekend. It is truly a pleasure to watch Sam ride.
